Arrow of Light
5th Graders work toward the Arrow of Light rank
The AOL Den is for youth who have completed fourth grade or are eleven years old, have earned thier Webelos Rank and are working toward their Arrow of Light rank. After finishing the requirements for an adventure, the Webelos den leader, rather than a parent, approves most of the adventures. For each adventure a youth completes, they receive a pin to wear on the Webelos colors or on their hat.
The highest rank in Cub Scouting is the Arrow of Light, preparing a Webelos Scout to become a member of Scouts BSA.
After an Arrow of Light Scout has earned the The Arrow of Light badge they're ready to join a Scouts BSA Troop! The Arrow of Light is the only Cub Scout badge that can be worn on the Scouts BSA uniform. Adult leaders who earned the Arrow of Light rank may also show their achievement by wearing a special square knot on their uniform.
Webelos Scouts do adventures described in their Webelos handbook that advance them towards their Arrow of Light rank. By completing five adventures, the Arrow of Light is earned.
Be active in your Webelos den for at least six months since completing the fourth grade or for at least six months since becoming 10-years old. (Being active means having good attendance, paying your den dues, and working on den projects.)
